I consider my role much more than photographer alone. I’m a confidant, friend, helper, trustworthy source and a true participant in your celebration. I work with couples who wholeheartedly believe in WHY they are getting married. People who are thoughtful with their time and intentionally create ways to stamp their personality on their plans. People who wear their heart on their sleeve without shame. People who embrace the spontaneity of emotion and allow it to flow naturally throughout the unexpected turns of the day. People who celebrate with tradition and culture in mind, whether thats creating new ones or practicing the rhythms they’ve adopted as their own. People who are obviously and undoubtedly in love — beyond physicality. A love thats thick in the air and inspires those around them.
It is an honor that people trust me to step into some of the most precious moments of their lives.
I began taking photos as a middle schooler longing for adventure. It began a curiosity in me for telling stories about people and places. I studied journalism in college hoping to be sent on some wild story over-seas. Instead I started shooting weddings my Junior year trying to make some money, never expecting any longevity in the industry. It was through meeting couples and their families that I realized wedding photography was a culmination of everything I had wanted to do. It was a dynamic mix of emotion that magnetized me to the world of journalism: joy, chaos, tears, vulnerability, nervousness, excitement. All of those things together told a unique and one-of-a-kind story every time I walked into a wedding day and I was hooked.
When Im not photographing a celebration or editing through photos, My husband and I like to host themed dinner parties or game nights. Im currently reading through the Harry Potter series (on book 5) and you can always find me listening to Frank Sinatra or the Avett Brothers.
